Delete your Chalkroll account
You can delete your Chalkroll account and its data at any time. The quickest way is in the app. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email.
Delete in the app
- Open Chalkroll and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- On the Today screen, tap your profile picture at the top.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Confirm it's you: enter your password, or choose your Google account. If you signed in with Facebook more than a few minutes ago, the app asks you to sign in again first.
- Tap Delete account. Your account is deleted straight away and you return to the sign-in screen.
This also deletes all Chalkroll data on that phone — students, lessons, notes and payments. If you might want them later, save a backup file first (in the app: Backup and restore).
Delete without the app
- Email admin@chalkroll.com with the subject Delete my Chalkroll account.
- Send it from the email address you use for Chalkroll. If you signed in with Google or Facebook, use the email address of that account, or tell us which one it is.
- We may reply to confirm the request comes from you. We delete the account within 7 days and email you when it's done.
Chalkroll data saved on a phone can only be removed on that phone: uninstall the app, or clear its storage in the phone's settings.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, name, password hash, and your Google or Facebook sign-in link.
- Your sign-in sessions, which signs you out everywhere.
- Your records of agreeing to the Terms and Privacy Policy.
- When you delete in the app: all Chalkroll data on that phone.
What is kept, and for how long
- Security logs, email delivery logs and provider backups (such as sign-in events and email delivery records) are removed automatically within 30 days.
- Email suppression list: if an email to your address ever bounced or was reported as spam, our email provider keeps the address on a list so we don't email it again. It stays until we remove it — ask us in your deletion email and we will.
- Emails you sent us, such as your deletion request, are kept for up to one year to show we handled your request, then deleted.
- Backup files you saved yourself are not touched — they are wherever you put them, and we never had them. Delete them yourself if you no longer need them.
- Calendar events added by calendar sync stay in your calendar. You can delete them in your calendar app.
Deleting your account can't be undone. You can sign up again later with the same email address, but it will be a new, empty account.
Signed in with Google or Facebook?
Deleting your Chalkroll account doesn't change your Google or Facebook account. To also remove Chalkroll from their list of connected apps:
- Google: Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services → Chalkroll → Delete all connections.
- Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → Chalkroll → Remove.
Removing Chalkroll only on Google or Facebook doesn't delete your Chalkroll account. Use the steps above for that.
